My myspace post...
This is what i posted on my page, i wanted to share it with everyone, she sons loved it and i thouhgt that it would be great to share with everyone!
So i write this post today cause i am upset and sad and not really doing that great. I lost a friend and co worker this last weekend. Her name is NELLY MARTINEZ, we worked together, went to school together and she even came out to the bars with me. She was a great person and always thinking of everyone else before her self. She wanted to make sure that everyone was happy. would bring snacks, and little gifts when she was at the store she said she would think of us. She was a great person, happy, and outgoing, and had a wild side too. She was a great mother to two boys who are going to be in my mind and heart for the rest of my life. I am not really sure how i feel really, because i have not had to deal with a death this close to me sence my mother. I didnt take that too well. But i have mikey and my family and workers that are all here for me. Its just hard that THursday when i get to work, she wont be here she wont be driving up to work in her car and getting out with sal my other guy that works here. She wont be having soda and chicken for fridays at work! But i know she is looking over us and making sure that we are ok. Its just hard, i have cried, and cired and i didnt sleep and i just kept checking on my kids in the rooms and its going to be hard for a while. I know that we all have to move on and we all have a life to live, but you never think about this stuff happening around you, and with people that you know.. WHY??????????? thats all i will ever wanna know, but i cant get that answered. I just thought that i would share the story with everyone that didnt know. so i posted the newpaper writing about it. The people that i work with have been really great, we all got together and talked and i think that it was just what i really needed. I just have to come to the fact that Nelly is no longer with us and that she is in GODS ARMS NOW.... LOVE YOU NELLY, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AND WILL AWAYS BE REMEMBERED.. CASTRO VALLEY — A man shot dead by sheriff's deputies Sunday afternoon may have been inside his apartment with his dead wife for 24 hours, a sheriff's spokesman said.
The man apparently attacked a deputy and a sergeant with a knife when they entered the apartment through a second-story window, according to sheriff's Sgt. J.D. Nelson.
Authorities arrived at a triplex in the 22400 block of North Fifth Avenue about noon Sunday to perform a welfare check. They knocked on the door, but when there was no answer, the deputy and sergeant used a ladder provided by the Alameda County Fire Department to gain entry through a second-floor window.
Upon entering, the officers saw a woman lying on the floor of a hallway where there was "a significant amount of blood," Nelson said.
They then saw a man lying on a bed in a bedroom. The man got up and rushed at them carrying a large kitchen knife, Nelson said.
"He came at them very quickly and very aggressively," he said.
The officers shot the man dead. Nelson did not say how many shots were fired, but people in the area said they heard at least three.
According to the coroner's initial finding, the woman was killed by multiple stab wounds and had been dead at least 24 hours when deputies arrived.
"The fact that he was in there with her, logic would tell you that he would be the suspect," Nelson said.
The female victim left work Saturday. When she didn't show up Sunday, a concerned co-worker and friend called police.
Nelson said the names of the deceased will not be released until investigators interview their family members. However, he said the two were married and had a history of domestic violence issues. The man was described as a 38-year-old handyman. The woman was described as a 32-year-old property manager.
The couple had no children together, but the woman had two young children from another relationship who live out of state, Nelson said. It is not known if the husband had children, although both have family in the area.
The sergeant and deputy involved in the shooting have been placed on routine paid administrative leave, according to the Sheriff's Office.
